University of Toledo professor to give talk on Catholic vote

Richard Gaillardetz, professor of Catholic studies at the University of Toledo, will give a free lecture on the topic, Is There a Catholic Vote? Perils and Possibilities of Faith-Based Voting, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the UT Law Auditorium.

Mr. Gaillardetz will guide discussion on the role of faith and politics and make the argument that the process of drawing on religious convictions in making ballot choices is more complex than usually recognized.

Mr. Gaillardetz, who earned a doctorate in systematic theology from the University of Notre Dame, has written eight books and is a member of the board of directors of the Catholic Theological Society of America.
