WASHINGTON — Diane Knight, chairman of the National Review Board, Child and Youth Protection for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, will be the speaker at the Toledo diocese's First Thursday Dialogue luncheon on March 3 at the Toledo Club.

Ms. Knight, who has been a social worker for 40 years, spent the first 20 of those years working in child protection and related child-welfare services for the Milwaukee County Department of Social Services before joining the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Catholic Charities staff.

She was appointed to the National Review Board in June, 2007, and appointed chairman in June, 2009. The USCCB announced this week that Al Notzon III of the Archdiocese of San Antonio will succeed her in June.

The National Review Board was established in 2002 as a consultative body charged with reviewing the annual report of the Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection and implementing the Charter for the Protection of Children.

Ms. Knight will speak at noon March 3 at the Toledo Club, Madison Avenue and 14th Street. Tickets are $15, including lunch, by calling 419-244-6711, ext. 515.
