St. John's UCC to install new pastor on Sunday

The Rev. Don Giesmann is to be installed as pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in a ceremony at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1213 Washington St., Genoa.

Mr. Giesmann has been in pastoral ministry since 1974, first in the Presbyterian Church before transferring to the United Church of Christ.

The service will be conducted by the Northwest Ohio Association of the UCC, with area pastors from Genoa, Elmore, Haskins, and Fostoria participating.

The Rev. Paul Deppen, pastor emeritus, will give the message.

In his spare time, Mr. Giesmann enjoys visiting with his six grandchildren, hiking, reading, and participating in short-term mission trips.
