Saturday night is comedy night in Toledo.
At Nitschke Auditorium, 1600 N. Westwood Ave. on the University of Toledo Main Campus, “Free to Laugh: Laugh to Free” features family-friendly comedians Ron McGehee, Carlos Oscar, and Daren Streblow in two shows, at 5 and 8 p.m. All proceeds go to the Daughter Project, an Ohio nonprofit organization that builds recovery homes to help girls and women who have been rescued from sex traffickers. Admission is $20, with tickets available at Lifeway Christian and Family Christian bookstores, the Web site www.thedaughterproject.org, and at the door.
Fom 6 to 9 p.m., the Friendship Baptist Church singles fellowship ministry presents “Jokes & Jeans Night” at the Family Activities Club, 6202 Trust Dr., in Holland. The star is Alvin Irby and Toledo’s Tavon Patterson will serve as host. $15 buys dinner and the show.
