People who became Muslim converts will have a panel discussion Sunday at 4 p.m. at Toledo Masjid Al-Islam, 722 E. Bancroft St.

“There is an assumption that Islam attracts only anti-American minded people and those deemed ‘unsuccessful’ in life,” said Imam Shamsuddin Waheed of Masjid Al-Islam. “We hope to show, through local stories, that such opinions are incorrect.” Attendees can expect to hear about scripture, dress, religious differences, and similarities.
