Convert to Islam to speak at Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio — Julia Shearson, executive director of the Cleveland Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Ohio will talk about her conversion from Catholicism to Islam and the challenging national climate faced by American Muslims when she gives a presentation Nov. 5 in Bluffton University’s Founders Hall.

The topic is “Being Muslim in Post 9/​11 America.” The presentation, which begins at at 11 a.m., is free and open to the public.
