Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations

Blade Lounge, 541 North Superior, inspected Jan. 22. Critical violations: observed no date marking. All refrigerated potentially hazardous foods must be date marked. Facility is receiving eggs from an unapproved source. All food items must come from an approved food source. Remove eggs from service. Observed eggs in cooler stored above butter and other ready to eat foods. Raw shell eggs must be stored below ready-to-eat food items to prevent contamination. Raw shell egg and beaten eggs were being stored on the counter between deep fryer and grill this area gets too hot. Potentially hazardous foods must be held cold at all times. Eggs were voluntarily discarded at inspection. No sanitizer buckets are set up for wiping cloths at inspection. All food prep and cooking areas must have sanitizer buckets for wiping cloths to sanitize food contact surfaces. All packaged self-service food items, baked goods, sandwiches, and salads must be properly marked. Inspector: Kelly Sattler.

Chop House, 1430 Holland, inspected Jan 9. Critical violations: Keep Dumpsters closed at all times. Upon inspection flaps were found open making this potential vector problem. Provide C consumer advisory on menus or post. Clean interior and exterior of all trash receptacles. Clean interior of all reach-in coolers. Clean backside of handles. Clean interior of microwave. Hair restraints must be worn by all employees working in the kitchen. Provide sanitizer test strips. Provide scoops with handles for bulk food items. Keep all food items 6 inches above floor. Inspector: Kevin Halligan.

Ermie's Lounge, 1776 Arlington, inspected Jan. 9. Critical violations: Ammonia test strips needed to check sanitizer concentration. Hand sink in kitchen must have a single faucet that mixes hot and cold water to ensure 20 second hand washing. You may use fourth bar sink for hand washing if used properly with soap and hand towels. Disclosure reminder needed for medium rare meat. Inspector: Mike Brady.
