CVS Caremark Corp., which plans to re-enter the metro Toledo market after abandoning it in 2001, has taken the first official step toward its return by completing its purchase of land on Monroe Street near Douglas Road, where it plans to open its first drugstore. CVS, headquartered in Woonsocket, R.I., bought eight parcels of property totaling 1.5 acres on Jan. 18, Lucas County real estate records show. The total price for the property was $2.2 million. The company earlier submitted a site plan to the Toledo Plan Commission for a store on the site at 4127 Monroe St.
