COLUMBUS — Continental Structural Plastics Inc. received approval Monday for a six-year, 50 percent state job-creation tax credit, committing to create 56 jobs worth $1.5 million in new payroll at its North Baltimore plant.

CSP also agreed to retain 103 jobs worth $3.9 million in the deal approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.

John Recker, of the Regional Growth Partnership in Toledo, told the panel that CSP was down to six employees in 2009, during the depths of the recession. But with a contract to produce fiberglass hoods and fenders for the Ford F-650 truck, the company plans to invest $2.9 million in the facility.

Indiana was reportedly competing for the project. The company had more than 500 employees during its peak in the 1990s.
