Jennifer Chirco, middle school instructor, was honored along with Lial Catholic School in Whitehouse for student accomplishments in science.
The school was one of 85 in Ohio to receive the Governor's Award for Excellence in Youth Science Opportunities during the 2005-2006 school year.
Students participate in the local and district science fairs and the state fair to compete for awards.
The award is given by the Ohio Academy of Science.
