Man charged after gunshot strikes house

A Perrysburg Township man was arrested and charged with using a weapon while intoxicated after Waterville police said he accidentally fired into someone else's home at 71 Karyl St.

James Frankforther of 10485 Mandell Rd. was inside the home of a Waterville woman when he fired a 22-caliber handgun that went through a wall and into her neighbor's house shortly before 4 a.m. Monday, Waterville police Chief Bob Selders said.

The bullet ricocheted through Kimberly Keller's home and struck just above the headboard in her bedroom. She was not hurt.

Police found Mr. Frankforther at 79 Karyl St., in a house that belongs to Linda Bohaczenko. Mr. Frankforther told police he fired the weapon accidentally and admitted he'd had at least six beers, police said.

He was released from the Lucas County jail on his own recognizance and is to be arraigned March 12 in Maumee Municipal Court.
