Sarah Henzler of Perrysburg, a recent graduate of Perrysburg High School, has been awarded a Presidential Scholarship from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. The $12,000 annual scholarship is renewable for three years.

Sarah, who has a 3.9 grade-point average, plans to study animation and film-digital video starting this fall. She received a third-place award in animation from the Ohio Youth Digital Arts Festival for her project titled Rebound, which was also accepted for screenings by the national KIDS FIRST! Film Festival. Her animation called Blobby the Pirate received a first place from the local Frogtown Film Festival held at Maumee Valley Country Day School.

The Maumee Schools Foundation has awarded $1,000 scholarships to four graduates of Maumee High School.

Lydia Bottoni, who is first in her class with a grade-point average of 4.782, will attend Ohio Northern University to major in English literature.

Bryan Bosch, who ranks third in his class with a grade-point average of 4.712, will attend the University of Cincinnati to study civil engineering.

Becky Zunkiewicz, with a grade-point average of 4.233, plans to attend Miami of Ohio to pursue a degree in business with a minor in Spanish.

Bethany Hoffman, who has a grade-point average of 4.176, plans to attend the University of Toledo to pursue a nursing degree.

Christie Collins of Curtice, a student at Bowling Green State University, has been awarded a Scottish Rite Scholarship by the 32nd degree Masons in Toledo. Christie attends Bowling Green State University.

The Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation awarded the following scholarships to Genoa Area High School graduating seniors:

The Helen Asmus Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Alyssa Kertesz, Jeanna McWatters, Adam Schumacher, and Allison Vogelpohl.

The Stella Bertz Scholarship went to Delaney Talmage, the Doris Brossia Memorial Scholarship to Angie Burdge, and the Envirosafe Scholarship to Craig Krajeski.

General Scholarship Fund awards were given to Brooks Clayton, Zachary Humberger, Brittany Lasher, and Ronald Scott.

The Genoa Area Federation of Clubs' Tomme Bergman Memorial Scholarship was awarded to John Nelson.

The Genoa Area FFA Alumni Scholarship went to Samuel Pinkerton, Andrew Sander, Jarod Auer, and Austin Dickinson.

The Genoa Area Music Boosters Scholarship was awarded to Randy Adams, and the Genoa Athletic Boosters Scholarship to Jarod Auer and Ariel Estes.

The Genoa Elementary Parent Teachers Organization (PTO) Scholarship went to Jennifer Kraemer, and the Genoa Golf Scholarship to LeAnna Pickerel. Genoa Kiwanis Scholarships were awarded to Randy Adams, Lauren Grimm, Katelin Schlagheck, and Ashleigh Teet. Katelin also received an Edith C. Niehousmyer Scholarship.

The Genoa National Honor Society Scholarship went to Shana Szypka, who also received a Debra Sue Vine Memorial Scholarship. The Lester M. Henningsen Scholarship and the Marcia Tank Science-Engineering Scholarship were awarded to Joshua Hille.

Other Foundation awards went to Nicolas Kania, the Ryan Kimball Memorial Scholarship; Adam Egbert, Helen L. Niehousmyer Scholarship; Alys Vollmar, Curt Reinbolt Memorial Scholarship; Jennifer Kraemer, Carol Scharer Scholarship; Sarah Milbrodt, Marcia Tank Education Scholarship, and Carrie Sheldon, James Walton Scholarship.
