Perrysburg system to start Feb. 25

2/6/2008

Perrysburg Schools will have kindergarten registration for the 2008-09 school year during the week of Feb. 25.

The times will be 9 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3:30 p.m., and 5 to 6 p.m.

Registration will be Monday at Frank Elementary, Tuesday at Toth Elementary, Wednesday at Woodland Elementary, and Thursday at Fort Meigs Elementary.

In the event of school cancellation, the registration will take place on the same day and time during the week of March 10, two weeks later.

Any child who will reach age 5 on or before Aug. 8 is eligible to register.

Parents will need their child's birth certificate, Social Security card, proof of residency, record of immunization, and proof of custody, if applicable.

A deed, building permit, rental agreement, or property tax statement will serve to demonstrate residency.

The district offers all-day kindergarten on a tuition basis. Scholarships are available on a limited basis depending on financial qualification.

All day kindergarten students are enrolled in the district's Digital Academy, which uses the Waterford Curriculum, a computer program designed to improve math and science skills and literacy.

Tuition for all-day kindergarten will be set in spring. Classes will be available to all students in the district, but the number and location of the classes will depend on the number of students enrolling at each building and space availability.

There has been a waiting list for the past two years.
