Teacher of the Month: Mary McManamon

Mary McManamon, special education teacher at Springfield High School, is a dedicated teacher. She is always focused on student achievement from a teacher-development aspect and from a student-growth perspective.

When asked about her career, Ms. McManamon always has the same reply: "It has been a blessing to have taught all these years."

She is responsible for scheduling all special education students and tutors students for the Ohio Graduation Test on her own time. In addition, she conducts professional development on the Ohio Graduation Tests and short-cycle assessments for the entire staff at Springfield.

"Mary McManamon is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen," said Steve Gwin, principal. "She has a tireless energy level and spends hours of her own time working to improve student achievement."
