Committee on aging sets sessions on world issues

BOWLING GREEN The Wood County Committee on Aging has announced the 2009 schedule of educational discussion group meetings that are part of the American Association of University Women s Great Decisions series on world issues.

Bowling Green State University professors will hold the meetings from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, on six consecutive weeks, from Jan. 24 through Feb. 28, at the Wood County Senior Citizens Center, 305 North Main St.

The relevant dates and topics are:

Jan. 24 Universal Human Rights

Jan. 31 Energy and the Global Economy

Feb. 7 Global Food Supply

Feb. 14 Afghanistan and Pakistan

Feb. 21 The Arctic

Feb. 28 U.S.A. and Rising Powers

The sessions are free and open to the public. Lunch will be served; with advance registration encouraged and donation suggested at $5 for people under 60 and for $2 for people who are 60 or older.
