Perrysburg High School grad to perform senior recital in Cincinnati

Kathryn Zajac, an undergraduate vocal performance major from Perrysburg, will perform her senior recital May 15 at 6:45 p.m. in Mary Emery Hall at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) University of Cincinnati.

The recital is free and open to the public with a light reception following the recital. A 2005 Perrysburg High School graduate, she will graduate from CCM-University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's degree in music on June 13.

While at CCM, she has performed several roles in undergraduate operas including: The Rabbitt in L'enfant et les sortileges, Second Lady in Die Zauberflote, and Goddess Minerva in Orpheus in the Underworld. She was in the choruses for the CCM graduate mainstay operas of Don Giovanni, La Boheme and Elixir of Love. Professionally she has per-

formed the role the Wailing Wife in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Kitty in The Pirates of Penzance.

She was selected to partcipate in several summer opera programs including Rising Star Singers Voice Program and Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy.

For the summer of 2009 Ms. Zajac has a professional contract with the Cincinnati Opera for performances in Don Carlo and Carmen in the chorus.
