Season's last walking tour in Waterville to be Saturday

The final walking tour of Waterville's historic district for this season is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, beginning at the Robbins House Museum, 114 South River Rd.

A $1 donation is suggested for the illustrated brochure describing the history and architecture of the buildings highlighted in the guided one-hour tour.

The 1838 Robbins House, representing a pre-Civil War home, and the 1834 Sargent House next door will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at no charge. Construction methods used by pioneers, Indian artifacts, and other exhibits are featured in the Sargent House. Waterville Historical Society volunteers will provide information to visitors.

Also Saturday, the Wakeman Archival Research Center, upstairs at Wakeman Hall, 401 Farnsworth Rd., will be open at no charge from 1 to 4 p.m. The research center is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through October.
