Maumee issues warning on fireworks use

Maumee Fire Chief Robert Zink has warned against using fireworks during the city’s holiday celebration today.

“We really, really need folks to remember personal fireworks are illegal,” the chief said. “We’ve got a zero-tolerance policy.”

He said the city will take a “hard-line policy” this year because the dry weather has made conditions more dangerous.
