The 39th annual Roche de Boeuf Festival is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Waterville, featuring crafts, food vendors, area artists, merchant booths, and entertainment. The event is free and open to the public.

A parade is to begin at 10 a.m. Children's activities include carnival, train, and pony rides, inflatables, face painting, pitching machines, and a bungee trampoline.

The Pioneer Arts area will feature demonstrations of crafts including basket and chair caning, beekeeping, blacksmithing, quilting, rug weaving, rope making, spinning, weaving, and woodcarving. The Waterville Historical Museums along River Road will be open for tours.

A new by invitation-only art section is part of this year's festival.

The first of two volumes in a book set about Waterville homes built in 1912 or earlier will be available for sale at the festival through the Waterville Historical Society.

Also on Saturday, the 12th Annual Roche de Boeuf Car Show will be held in the Shawn's Irish Tavern parking lot throughout the day.

The events coincide with the 20-year reunion of Anthony Wayne High School's class of 1992.
