A replacement traffic signal at the entrance to Calvary Assembly of God has been added to the city’s rehabilitation project along Conant Street.

The signal at the former Maumee 18 multiplex cinema was not included in the state-funded main project, Service Director Joe Camp said, because traffic counts were taken after Rave Cinemas closed the theater. Without traffic entering and exiting the facility, the signal did not meet state conditions for its operation, he said.

U.S. Utility Contractors Co. of Perrysburg will upgrade the control system and signal heads and install a video-traffic detection system in place of in-pavement loops. City Council approved a $109,881.44 contract for the work last week.
