Dann seeks redress for injured workers

6/25/2005

State Sen. Marc Dann wrote Attorney General Jim Petro yesterday demanding he force the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation to repay more than $50 million to injured workers.

According to a copy of the letter faxed to The Blade, the Liberty Township Democrat wants BWC - already in the hole for almost $230 million because of its failed rare-coin and hedge fund ventures - to follow a 2004 Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas judgment ordering repayment of $51,815,959 collected from injured workers.

Mr. Dann and Mr. Petro couldn't be reached for comment last night.
