3 named to state panel on waste management

COLUMBUS Three northwest Ohio men were appointed recently to the state s Solid Waste Management Advisory Council by Gov. Bob Taft.

Larry Johns of Wapakoneta, Tim Wasserman of Fremont, and Thomas M. Ferrell, Jr., of Sandusky received the appointments.

Mr. Ferrell is an Erie County commissioner; Mr. Wasserman is director of the Ottawa-Sandusky-Seneca Joint Solid Waste District. Both are Bowling Green State University graduates.

Mr. Johns is the fiscal officer for Moulton Township in Auglaize County. He is a graduate of Ohio Northern University.

The council advises and assists the director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency with preparation of the state s solid waste management plan and periodic revisions of the plan. Their terms expire in 2008.
