Kent State puts end to faculty sabbaticals

KENT, Ohio Kent State University has canceled sabbaticals for 60 faculty members in the coming school year.

Provost Robert Frank has told faculty the university wants to be cautious with its budget because of state funding university.

University spokesman Scott Rainone says the paid leaves of absence planned for the 2009-10 school year would have cost the university $500,000 to $750,000.
