DETROIT City offices in Detroit's Coleman A. Young Municipal Building have closed for the day after a partial power failure.

The power failure occurred late Monday morning. Employees at the downtown building and visitors were ordered to leave.

The building houses city and some county offices, and Wayne County Circuit Court's civil division.

Building Authority general manager Gregory McDuffee says full electrical service is being re-established. He says the building will reopen once power is restored.

The building was closed for several days last summer after a lightning strike on a pumping station caused a power surge that started a fire.
