GREEN, Ohio — A private jet overshot an Ohio runway and wound up stuck in a snow bank, shutting down the Akron-Canton Airport for 20 minutes.

No one was hurt in the mishap, which occurred around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Airport spokeswoman Kristie Van Auken says the pilot of the Lear jet apparently he thought he had more room to stop on the main runway. She says it was snowing at the time, though it's unclear if the weather was a factor.

At least three flights were delayed while airport employees dug the plane out of the snow using shovels.

Van Auken said the jet arrived from Canada, though she had no further information about its origin, owner or pilot.
