COLUMBUS -- Gov. John Kasich told a group of Toledo-area business leaders today that the state is turning the corner, but there's a lot more work to do.

Mr. Kasich and Toledo Mayor Mike Bell were the keynote speakers for the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative day in Columbus.

The Governor touched on several topics, including improving unemployment rates, using the North Baltimore intermodal facility to draw business, and the possibility of privatizing the Ohio Turnpike. He also focused on education, talking both of the need for K-12 reforms and about colleges working with business.

"We need to take advantage of our university system in the state to commercialize, to graduate, to train, and to be integrated with our businesses," he said.

Chamber of commerce members also heard presentations on the statewide economic impact of the hydraulic fracturing in the shale regions of eastern Ohio and the reforms being pushed to improve Cleveland City Schools.
