Ohio family buries newly identified remains of long-missing Korean War soldier from Virginia

CONCORD, Ohio — The remains of a Virginia soldier who went missing during the Korean War have been buried near his family in northeast Ohio more than 60 years later.

The military says 18-year-old Army Cpl. Pryor Gobble of Jonesville, Va., was reported missing after a battle near a North Korean reservoir in late 1950.

In the early 1990s, North Korea returned more than 200 boxes of what were believed to be remains of hundreds of U.S. military members. DNA tests helped confirm Gobble's remains were among them.

His Wednesday funeral in Concord included full military honors. The News-Herald of Willoughby (http://bit.ly/NzGNyO ) reports veterans from the area joined Gobble's siblings at the service.

Glenn Gobble says he was touched by the respect shown even though his brother has been gone for so long.
