SANDUSKY — If convicted, the Sandusky man accused of killing a woman and her two young children could face the death penalty.

Curtis Clinton, 41, of 2027 Campbell St. was indicted by an Erie County grand jury Wednesday on five counts of aggravated murder, three counts of rape, and one count of aggravated burglary.

He is accused in the Sept. 8 deaths of Heather Jackson, 23, Celina Jackson, 3, and Wayne Jackson, Jr., 18 months. The three were found dead in a John Street home in Sandusky.

Prosecutor Kevin Baxter said the five aggravated murder counts are for the three victims — one for Ms. Jackson and two each for the children because they were younger than 13. Two of the rape counts are for an unrelated case, in which Clinton is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl on Sept. 2; the third is for the alleged sexual assault of the 3-year-old girl. The aggravated burglary is related to the John Street killings.

No dates have been set for additional court appearances. The suspect is being held in the Erie County jail in lieu of $3 million bond.
