CLEVELAND  — Police say a 12-year-old girl is recovering after being shot on a Cleveland playground over the weekend.

Cleveland police said Toni Landers was shot once in the chest Sunday at a park on the city’s east side. They say she apparently was caught in the crossfire as two of three men started shooting at each other.

Toni had surgery Sunday, and her family says she will be OK.

No arrests have been made yet, and officers are looking for the public’s help in solving the case. Witnesses said the Walter Burkes Playground at the park was busy Sunday evening when the shooting occurred.
