Area parks celebrate Trails Day

PAULDING, Ohio — The Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor will celebrate National Trails Day today with three free activities for outdoor enthusiasts.

Activities include a lecture about the history found in the Maumee Valley, starting at 1 p.m. at the John Paulding Historical Society, 600 Fairgrounds Dr., Paulding. There also will be a hiking event, led by education specialists, at 2 p.m. at the Black Swamp Nature Center, next to the Historical Society grounds.

Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor board members also will give tours of the Renegade Section of the Buckeye Trail from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, starting at Ritter Park in Napoleon.
