Ohio man dies after sandbar dive at N. Ind. lake

WARSAW, Ind. — An Ohio man has died after striking his head on a shallow sandbar at a northern Indiana lake.

Indiana conservation officers say 26-year-old Bradley Heyne of Coldwater, Ohio, died today at a hospital from his injuries.

The Warsaw Times-Union reports (http://bit.ly/183l1x5 ) Heyne was swimming with friends Saturday evening at Big Chapman Lake when he dove headfirst from a boat and struck the sandbar. Others with him brought the unresponsive man to shore and began CPR before he was taken to the hospital.

Big Lake Chapman is about 35 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
