Ohio teen gets probation in plot to kill parents

COLUMBUS — A central Ohio teenager who persuaded her boyfriend to kill her parents won’t go to prison if she stays out of trouble during court-ordered probation.

The 21-year-old boyfriend of the 17-year-old girl is serving an eight-year prison sentence for the attack last year. The girl’s father was stabbed but recovered.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that the teen pleaded guilty Thursday to the charges, which included two adult counts of felonious assault.

Prosecutors say the teen and her boyfriend plotted to kill her parents, who did not approve of the relationship. The girl lied to her boyfriend, telling him that she had been abused by her parents.

In court Thursday, the girl hugged her parents and cried on their shoulders.
