CLEVELAND — County officials in Cleveland are offering to digitize records for suburbs under an effort to boost shared services in Ohio’s largest county.
The Plain Dealer reports Cuyahoga County would put public records that must be preserved onto microfilm and digital files, removing the hassle of storing and protecting paper documents.
The head of the Department of Regional Collaboration says the county is responsible for copying many of its own records and thought it would be good to provide that service for other communities. He says no price is set and the cost is negotiable.
At least two mayors, in Berea and University Heights, have said they’re interested in the service.
The effort to share services also includes road maintenance, crime lab services, training courses and website design.
