Troubled prison start for Ohio school gunman

CLEVELAND — The teen serving life in prison for killing three students in a school shooting rampage in northeast Ohio apparently has struggled with cellblock living.

Nineteen-year-old T.J. Lane, of Chardon, is locked up in the state prison in Lima in northwest Ohio.

According to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, he was given 10 days in segregation in July for giving himself a tattoo. And he was disciplined twice for refusing cellblock assignments.

Lane pleaded guilty in the Feb. 27, 2012, shooting attack at Chardon High School.

At his sentencing in March, Lane wore a T-shirt with “killer” scrawled across it and gestured obscenely as he was given three life sentences.

He has appealed his sentence.
