Gov. Kasich visits Willard residents
Families served Thanksgiving meal while displaced from homes
11/28/2013WILLARD, Ohio -- Governor John Kasich greeted families displaced by a chemical spill during a Thanksgiving Day meal today at Willard High School.
Several dozen families ate plates heaped with food as the governor stopped to greet people, shake hands, posed for pictures, and wished them a happy holiday.

The governor said it appeared from the residents he spoke to that those displaced by the spill are fine and said the response so far from CSX, the fire department, and other agencies has gone well. He said CSX is looking at what caused the incident and the focus now is on returning people to their homes.
"This is the way you do things," Mr. Kasich said.
About 400 houses near CSX Transportation's railroad yard remained evacuated early Saturday afternoon because of the styrene spill that occurred when a derailment late Tuesday night ruptured a tank car. An announcement about whether some of the affected residents will allowed to return home was expected later today.
