Perrysburg grad to lead Ohio Air National Guard

The Ohio Air National Guard has appointed Perrysburg High School 1977 graduate Chief Master Sgt. Phillip D. Smith as Ohio’s new state command chief master sergeant. Sergeant Smith recently retired from the junior high school as the orchestra leader.

He is a veteran of the Air National Guard’s 555th “Triple Nickel” Air Force Band, which was deactivated in 2012, and now is the Guard’s top noncommissioned officer.
