Icy rain sweeps much of Ohio, ahead of expected snowfall in latest winter blast
3/2/2014A change in the calendar hasn’t brought much change in weather for Ohioans, with much of the state under a March winter storm warning.
Icy rain early Sunday triggered warnings of hazardous driving conditions, and forecasters expected rain and sleet to be followed by more snow, three to seven inches in many areas.

Some churches canceled Sunday services, and the Roebling Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River connecting Cincinnati and northern Kentucky was closed because of ice on its metal grid decking.
The Ohio Department of Transportation urged drivers to give slow-moving snow plows room to clear off highways. Cincinnati officials said its crews put down a protective layer of brine.
The National Weather Service expects lingering layers of ice under the snow to impact travel conditions into Monday.
