The Ohio Department of Transportation is taking sound readings along U.S. 24 near Waterville through Monday to evaluate noise complaints.

Residents near the Waterville-Napoleon section, which opened in August, 2012, have complained of excessive traffic noise.

The state transportation department planned to take sound readings earlier, but postponed them twice because of weather.

Readings are to be taken between 3 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Saturday, and from 3 p.m. Sunday through 3 p.m. Monday.
