CINCINNATI — A 9-month-old girl has died after being pulled by divers from a southwest Ohio retention pond she rolled into in a stroller.

A Hamilton County Coroner’s office report states that the girl died Monday at the emergency room of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She was flown there after being pulled from water that was about 10 feet deep.

Authorities in the north Cincinnati suburb of West Chester Township said Monday the girl was with her grandparents and other children. She was strapped into the stroller when it rolled off a path.

Township firefighters who went into the pond found the girl and stroller submerged in water about 5 to 6 feet off the bank. Crews performed rescue breathing.

Children’s Hospital says it has no information about the girl.
