HAMILTON, Ohio — Police in southwest Ohio have charged two teens with drag racing and other crimes after a crash earlier this week that left a 14-year-old girl dead.

Hamilton police Sgt. Ed Buns says the teens — ages 15 and 16 — were drag racing in stolen cars early Tuesday when one lost control and crashed. Nicole Denney, who was riding in the car with the 16-year-old driver, was killed.

Buns says the 15-year-old driver bumped into the rear of the vehicle with Denney inside. The driver lost control, hitting a picnic table and a tree on the passenger side of the car.

Felony charges against the two teens also include aggravated vehicular homicide and receiving stolen property.

The Associated Press is not naming them because they are juveniles.
