MARYSVILLE, Ohio — Some 100 firefighters helped rescue residents of senior assisted-living apartments in central Ohio amid fire and heavy smoke.

Marysville fire officials said Sunday that the cause of the early morning, four-alarm fire was still under investigation. They said there were no fatalities, but several people required treatment.

Fire crews rushed to the scene from nearby communities to help after the 1:07 a.m. EDT Sunday report of fire. No firefighters were injured.

The American Red Cross was helping residents who needed a place to stay or other assistance.

Fire Battalion Chief Nathan Burns said there was no damage estimate available immediately, but he described damage to the building and roof as heavy.
