MANSFIELD — An Ohio family’s dog that had been missing for more than four years is finally home.

On Christmas Day in 2009, Angel the German shepherd wandered away from her Mansfield home in northern Ohio after the wind blew the front door open.

Her owners, the roamed the streets, posted fliers offering a reward and spread the word on Facebook.

Maggie Sinnett says the family eventually lost hope and was shocked to get a call last Monday with the news that Angel had been found.

Sinnett tells the Mansfield News Journal that the Richland County dog warden had found Angel on a local street.

A microchip implanted inside the dog allowed him to find Angel’s family.
