Chrys Peterson is staying put.

The anchor for WTOL-TV, Channel 11, whose five-year contract expired July 31, has agreed to another five-year deal, the station announced yesterday. She has been with the CBS affiliate since April, 1994.

"This is my home and I love it here," Peterson said in a press release issued by the station. "I look forward to five more fabulous years."

Peterson anchors the station's top-rated 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts with Terry Thill.

"I like Chrys a lot. She's one of the reasons I came here," said Thill, who was a weekend anchor in Cincinnati before returning to WTOL in January, 2003. "I'm glad it's done. I'm extremely happy - and I'm happy that she's happy, and that we'll be working together for the next several years."

WTOL general manager Bob Chirdon called Peterson "a unique and talented person." He praised her work in the community.

Peterson, 39, is actively involved in breast-cancer awareness projects and has served as honorary chairman for the Race for the Cure since 1995.
