WGTE suffers power outage

2/10/2005

The morning audience for WGTE-FM (91.3) and WGTE-TV, Channel 30, may have noticed something a little different yesterday after a 4 a.m. power outage caused some programming problems, a station official said.

The outage, caused by unknown reasons, led to a problem with automation systems for both radio and television, according to Marlon Kiser, president and general manager of WGTE. As a result, radio listeners at about 6 a.m. missed out on National Public Radio's Morning Edition for about an hour, and the television audience lost Priscilla's Yoga Stretches, he said.
