A Pemberville native will make his daytime television debut today when he appears as a clergyman in a dream sequence on As the World Turns.

Jody Madaras , 34, will appear on the 2 p.m. CBS soap opera during an imaginary marriage scene involving the characters Aaron and Allison, confi rmed Johanna Bradford , publicity assistant for the show.

It was great fun, Madaras said. He added that he got the role after being passed over by the same program last year for a part as a game show host because he looked too honest.

The perfo r m a n c e marks a depar t u re for Madaras, who has

been active in musical theater, mostly off-Broadway or in regional

theaters. Last year he filmed the lead role in the upcoming independent movie This is Not a Test, he said. Madaras, who lives in New York, is in northwest Ohio at the moment directing and

choreographing the musical Call Me Madam at his alma mater, Eastwood High School. Performances are scheduled for April 14-16.
