Brother with cancer to see American Idol contestant perform

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. A 36-year-old Terre Haute man undergoing treatment for brain cancer is in California to watch his brother perform on American Idol.

Adam Cook plans to be in the audience Tuesday and Wednesday when his brother, David Cook, performs as one of seven finalists on the Fox TV program.

Cook is undergoing chemotherapy for his second diagnosis of brain cancer, which has spread to his spine. His friends arranged for a chartered medical jet because doctors prohibited him from taking a commercial flight. Cook and his wife Kendra boarded the jet in Terre Haute Sunday night. They plan to return on Thursday.

Kendra Cook says the news of the trip raised her husband s spirits.
