First job: My first job in the news business was working at a small station outside of Washington, D.C., in Hagerstown, Md. It may have been my first job but we covered some big stories. It was a great place to get some real-world experience and I thrived there. I quickly moved up from reporter to anchor and stayed for over five years.
First salary: $18,500. This was tough to handle, but when you want something you are willing to do anything to get it.
My idol is: Robin Meade of CNN Headline News. She is so personable. I love her delivery.
Most embarrassing TV moment: Not being able to stop laughing after reading a pretty ridiculous story. Sometimes you just get a case of the giggles.
Highlight of my career: Getting my first job in news. I was working for the government at the time and I wasn't sure if I was going to get my break.
My favorite thing to do outside of work: Anything that involves my dog, Sophie. We love to walk and play outside.
Angie Gonzalez
Position: 6 and 11 p.m. news anchor
Station: WNWO-TV, Channel 24
Age: 30
Hometown: Silver Spring, Md.
College/school: University of Michigan

I think Toledo's best-kept secret is: Clothes Mentor. You can find great clothes here for way less than you'd even find them on sale at a retailer.
People may be surprised to know that I: wear slippers under the desk when I anchor the news.
In five years, I see myself: Doing the exact same thing. I love my job!
My dream job is: Being a news anchor. It's something I've wanted to do since I was in sixth grade. Right now, I am living my dream.
