WGTE-FM 91.3 (FM 91) is adding four programs to its fall schedule: TED Radio Hour, Electronic Currents, Pulse of the Planet, and New Music from Bowling Green, a 13-part series produced by the public radio station which is being syndicated and distributed nationwide.

TED Radio Hour features excerpts from the TED stage, where thinkers and innovators are invited to give the 18-minute “talk of their lives.” Each episode is organized around a common theme and includes guest speaker interviews by host Guy Raz. Beginning Sunday, TED Radio Hour airs at 11 a.m. Sundays.

Hosted by Jim Metzner, Pulse of the Planet is a radio series to provide listeners with a two-minute sound portrait of Earth, tracking the rhythms of nature, culture, and science worldwide, blending interviews with natural sound. Pulse of the Planet will be broadcast at 1 p.m. weekdays, beginning Monday.

After its original decade-long WGTE run, Electronic Currents returns to the station after several years of hiatus. Again hosted by former Blade reporter, editor, and music reviewer Richard Paton, Electronic Currents is two hours of dance music. Beginning Sept. 6, Electronic Currents can be heard from 10 p.m to midnight Fridays.

New Music from Bowling Green is devoted to living composers from the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music at Bowling Green State University, and will feature music and interviews from leading performers and composers, including BGSU alumna and Pulitzer Prize-winner Jennifer Higdon, as well as performances from the university’s annual New Music Festival.

Hosted by WGTE’s Music Director Brad Cresswell, New Music from Bowling Green will air at 1 p.m. Sundays beginning Oct. 6, and will be distributed nationally by The WFMT Radio Network.
