SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — A celebrity chef has taken the stand in the trial of a Northern California teenager accused of stealing his Lamborghini.
Guy Fieri testified for only a few minutes today in a Marin County courtroom saying that he does not know defendant Max Wade nor did he give Wade permission to take his $200,000 car out of a San Francisco dealership in March, 2011.
The 19-year-old Wade is charged with not only theft but also the attempted murder of two teens.
Prosecutors say Wade shot at a former high school classmate and his girlfriend in Mill Valley in April 2012. That investigation led authorities to Wade’s storage container in Richmond, where they found Food Network star’s stolen yellow Lamborghini.
Fieri told reporters today he thought the theft was a bad joke.
