Because of a breakdown in contract negotiations between SJL Broadcasting and DirecTV, the current retransmission agreement between both entities is set to expire at 5 p.m. today.

If a new contract agreement is not reached by that date and time, WTVG, Channel 13, will not be available on DirecTV.

This will affect thousands of WTVG, 13abc, viewers in the Toledo area who subscribe to DirecTV.

DirecTV viewers will likely need to find an alternative source to view programming uninterrupted.

SJL Broadcasting on Sunday issued this statement: “ATTENTION DIRECTV SUBSCRIBERS! Effective February 10th, 13abc will NOT be seen on DIRECTV. In order to guarantee that you receive 13abc, you may need to find an alternate source to view our signal. You can use an over the air antenna, subscribe to another Satellite service or cable system. This is an alert for DIRECTV SUBSCRIBERS only!”

Buckeye CableSystem will continue to carry WTVG, Channel 13.

Viewers were asked to contact DirecTV directly at 1-800-531-5000 to voice their concerns over the possible disruption of programming on 13abc.
